Book Club for Children
The club is one important way we add value to the lives of children in our community. Children dream of becoming firemen, singers or farmers. Who knows, maybe there is a little girl or boy whose dream is to be a Real Estate Consultant. The seeds of these dreams are often found in books. We are planting these seeds in our community that can grow across the world.
From birth on up all ages are welcome! It's never too young to start.
Learning to read is a process much like learning to speak or learning to walk. The process begins at birth. Children associate sounds with emotions. They must learn how a book works - you read left to right and you turn the pages. They associate pictures with words. These are all steps along the way to learning to read.
Perhaps even more importantly, they also learn to love to read. Sitting in a loved one's lap, all warm and cozy, develops a powerful association between reading and Love. These are pleasurable experiences and as such they prompt those words we love to hear, "read it again Mommy (Daddy)!"
BOOK CLUB RULES
- Child (or parent) must complete and enrollment form
- Child then receives a $5 gift card for Barnes & Noble
- Child can go buy whatever book they want
- Read the book
- Write a short paragraph about the book (could be what happened, what they learned or their favorite part.) Then mail to WINRealtyConnections.com 6119 Old Redwood HWY Suite B4 Santa Rosa 95403, what they wrote (or dictated to parent).
- They must pass the book along to a friend or charity When they are done and include the friend or charity's name in their letter to WINRealtyCOnnections.com
- Child will then receive another $5 gift card to Barnes & Noble and start all over.
